At VALD, we get a lot of questions about our pricing model; how it works, what it includes and excludes, and what it means for our clients. This article will help explain how the VALD pricing model works and why we think it’s the best possible way for us to deliver value to health and performance professionals and the broader musculoskeletal (MSK) industry.

Apart from our digital health offerings – which we offer completely free of charge – and our AirBands Wireless Blood Flow Restriction Cuffs, all other VALD products are sold via a subscription model. VALD is a world-leading MSK technology business, but our investment in innovation is quite different from what many outsiders may think. Whilst we are known for many of the names of our hardware devices (NordBord, ForceFrame, HumanTrak, ForceDecks, DynaMo, SmartSpeed), it is our software and data that sets us apart.

As of 2023, our research and development team (which we call our “Product” team) consists of over 70 engineers, product managers, designers and quality specialists, and at any given time as much as 90% of that team is dedicated to advancing our software; building new apps, releasing new features and making our data more accessible and useful to our clients.
Our mission is enabled by well-designed hardware but it is ultimately delivered by continuous innovation in software and exponentially expanding data.

VALD operates on a fixed-price subscription model spread over a 3-year agreement. We do this because we believe that a subscription model fosters mutual alignment between VALD and our clients.

Truly all-inclusive pricing: no hidden costs.
When clients enter into a subscription with VALD, they are locking in an agreed price over the term of their subscription. That includes the subscription fee plus any once-off costs such as for shipping and optional accessories.

- There are no consumables to replace or repair fees to pay.
- There are no additional packages to unlock additional users, licenses or data storage.
- There are no obsolete products that must be re-purchased to access the latest technology.
Your VALD subscription grants you unlimited access at a fixed price with no hidden costs. Flexible pricing with no penalties.
The VALD pricing model is also designed to be flexible, with billing options including:

- If it suits your organization, all upfront.
We are also happy to offer different payment cadences, within reason, for example if your business works on a fixed payment schedule or has inflexible budget windows.

We want to spend our time and resources on feature improvements and helping our clients succeed – not fixing broken hardware.
